Ski Now

And by Ski Now, we mean Ski or Board now! While Snowboarding is still a relative newcomer to adaptive skiing programs it is quickly gaining in popularity.

BC's first formalized adaptive skiing program was started by 2 Vancouver based physiotherapists who recognized the tremendous rehabilitative and health benefits that skiing offered. Since that first program in 1973, we've come a long way!

We all know that being active helps to increase our overall health and well-being; we also recognize that a disability should not be a barrier to enjoying an active life. We believe that everybody, regardless of their disability has the right to participate in adaptive snowsports; whether it's part of a formal rehabilitation program; in an effort to re-connect with a sport that you used to enjoy; part of a desire to live an exciting life full of new experiences; to meet an entirely new group of people who share your passions; or simply for the love of the sport.

DSABC currently has 13 active adaptive skiing programs Province-Wide, a number that is growing each and every year, thanks to the Snowbility Program, and hundreds of very dedicated volunteers.
